- Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to the boil. Add pasta and cook until tender, about 8 minutes. Drain.
- Meanwhile, melt butter in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add sliced kielbasa and fry until toasty at the edges. Drain off excess fat and stir in the cheese sauce. Stir in the pasta and season with salt and pepper. Serve with a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese.
Are Polish smoked sausages and can be found in Polish delis. If unavailable, use Mattessons smoked sausage instead.

I normally shy away from recipes that call for canned soup or bottled sauces as an ingredient, but I was intrigued by all the good reviews this recipe got. I should have followed my instincts. Maybe it was the brand of alfredo sauce I purchased, but it was a well-known, high-end brand. I should have tasted it before I dumped it into the pan. It had no flavor that came close to alfredo sauce, and the texture was gluey, almost gelatinous. I tried to fix it by adding some milk and some sauted onions and garlic, but it was no use. My husband ate his, but then he'll eat anything. I definitely will not make it again.-27 Jul 2007
This recipe was too perfect tonight! I was standing in the kitchen with a jar of alfredo in my hand wondering what to do with it. I checked here and this was #2- and I just bought some smoked sausage yesterday! I had the Roasted Garlic Alfredo by Classico which gave it an interesting flavor. I'll definitely be making this again and I plan on trying it with different types of alfredo. I omitted any additional salt since alfredo & kielbasa can be salty all on their own. Try it with fresh grated parmesan cheese on top- yum! I thought about adding peas but opted to stick to the original recipe- I can't imagine it would taste anything less than delish!-23 Apr 2007

This recipe was good. I tweeked it just a little. After I browned the sausage I took it out of the pan and then drained the fat and added 1tbsp of butter and a minced clove of garlic. I sauted it for less than a minute. Then I added the sausage back in, then the alfredo sauce and I used No-Yolk Kluski noodles. It was very good. My two year old son loved it!-19 Feb 2007

Cheesy Smoked Sausage Pasta

- 1 (16-ounce) package dry rotini pasta
- ¼ cup salted butter
- ¼ cup all-purpouse flour
- 2 ½ cups whole milk
- 1 (8-ounce) bag shredded Cheddar cheese
- ½ - 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 (14-ounce) package Cheddar smoked sausage links, sliced
Cook pasta according to package instructions drain.
While the pasta is cooking, make the sauce.
In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
Whisk in the flour and let cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.
Add milk a little bit at a time, whisking until all the milk is incorporated.
Whisk in the cheese and seasoned salt and pepper. Then stir in the sausage and cooked pasta.
Sprinkle with parsley, if desired.

- 3 cups elbow macaroni
- 1 pound smoked beef sausage, cut into bite-size pieces
- 2 (14.5 ounce) cans stewed tomatoes, chopped, juices reserved
- 1 sweet onion, diced small
- 2 ounces shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- 2 ounces shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 2 teaspoons olive oil, or more to taste
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder, or more to taste
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder, or more to taste
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 1 (8 ounce) package shredded American cheese (such as Kraft® Melts)
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Butter a 9x13-inch baking dish and oil with 1 teaspoon olive oil.
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook elbow macaroni in the boiling water, stirring occasionally, until cooked through but firm to the bite, 8 minutes. Drain.
Stir sausage, tomatoes and reserved juice, onion, Cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, 2 teaspoons olive oil, parsley, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and ground black pepper together in a large bowl. Add elbow macaroni and stir. Pour macaroni mixture into prepared baking dish, sprinkle with American cheese, and cover with aluminum foil.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove aluminum foil from baking dish, increase heat to 425, and bake until sauce is bubbly, and the top is golden brown, about 15 minutes. Cool for 15 minutes before serving.

I made this one pan cheesy smoked sausage and pasta last week and it turned out great. Quick and easy, it’s one of the best sausage pasta recipes around.
This simple recipe is made with ingredients that you most likely already have at home.
- smoked sausage
- uncooked Bow-Tie pasta
- Monterey Jack cheese
- Half & Half – being a New Englander, I typically reach for Hood
- vegetable stock

Spicy Smoked Sausage Cheesy Pasta Skillet
- 1 TBSP bacon drippings or unsalted butter
- 1 lb Smoked Sausage, sliced or diced
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 1 can Rotel, undrained (mild or original)
- 2 cups Chicken Broth
- 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 8 oz Penne noodles, uncooked
- 8 oz Monterey Jack Cheese, Shredded
- Green onions, thinly sliced
Add bacon drippings to an oven safe skillet over medium high heat. Add sausage and onions and cook until lightly browned, about 4 minutes. Reduce heat to medium and add the minced garlic. Cook for another minute, stirring constantly. Add Chicken broth, Rotel, Cream, Black Pepper, and Uncooked Penne Noodles and bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to medium low. Simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 cup of cheese. Top with remaining cheese. Place under Broiler until cheese is melted and starting to brown. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with green onions and Enjoy.
What kind of sausage to use?
I used a fully cooked Ukrainian sausage. Smoked sausages definitely vary, but whatever you can find/your favorite variety will be fine. Do use your best judgement when it comes to draining the fat, though. The kind I bought for this recipe wasn't too fatty at all, but some will release a lot of fat, so it's a good idea to spoon it out of the pan. You can use an uncooked sausage (e.g. Italian sausage) and cook it for this recipe (take it out of the casings and crumble it), but cooking time may be a bit longer.
Feel free to use a bit less than the 1 pound of sausage that's suggested. I just used the whole coil that I bought.
How to Make Cheesy Sausage Pasta
- Everything cooks in one pan, so you don’t need to worry about boiling the noodles ahead of time
- Use the oil get a golden brown color on the sausage and soften the onions
- Dump everything into the pan and stir it together
- You will put the lid on so that it all cooks faster and all of your liquid doesn’t evaporate. But you will want to take the lid off to stir a couple of times.
- Do not let the pot boil over, this can cause your milk to curdle.
